Well I am a conservative, once a republican.and now a libertarian. I
also minored in history at George Fox University. There have been
changes since the beginning. IAm is a a pretty hilarious pseudo
intellectual. Insulted by his own lack of history and the evolution of

The Republican Party has never stood for anything other than a limited
role of government, individualism and the Constitution which
guarantees our individual rights. To that extent, again, when it was
clear that Lincoln wouldn't grant slaves the same rights as every
other American, the Republican Party refused to nominate him for his
re-election campaign. He had to run on the Union Party ticket. Those
Republicans were called

obviously you have never studied the entire history. It is your

the republican party in the abandonment of conservative principals and

There has never been
reversals in platforms... thats what makes true Republicans so unique.
Freedom and Liberty has always been what Republicans have fought for
and slavery has always been what the democrats have fought for. Even
today -- 21st Century slavery is in the form of high taxes and big
plantations... I mean Government. Democrats don't want you to work for
yourself they want you to work for the Government. This way the
government can dole out welfare to those that will keep voting for
them. It is interesting to see how you have fallen for this hook, line
and sinker. Like so many others "of your liberal brethren", you were
never given the opportunity to think for yourself. Just in that one
comment "there have been reversals in platforms" goes to show how you
justify your ignorance. It was not the reversal of platforms it was
the reversal of peoples notions about slavery.

If there
is an inconsistent fact or a miss representation in this video please
by all mens point it out. But remember Republicans think first from
their head (with facts, logic and objective reason) then their
convictions come from their heart. Democrats first think from their
hearts and then they try and twist reality to fit their fantasy of a
sweet marxist utopia.

personally i believe digging back this for gets sticky and irrelevant
when you know your history. there have been reversals in platforms
over time. Dont forget dems started as strict constitutionalists in
the beginning. I am guessing that most of us would have been democrats
at one early point. Frankly I find any conservative who defends
republicans at this point out of touch with conservative values. Bush
was an utter failure to us and its time for real change.

republicanblogic (great name), the majority of Americans are not
racist and never have been, at least in my experience. My family have
always been color blind and, like our fellow Republican Martin Luther
King, have always judged people by their character first then their
ability and talent.

another part of history that has been lost, Abe Lincoln did not
receive the Republican Party's nomination for his second term. The
Radical Republicans had higher standards. (The Constitution and
equality for all) Lincoln had to pander to the democrats to win
re-election. He chose a Democrat as his new VP and over 100 years of
injustice followed.

I am an 11th generation American whose family fought and
defeated the Democrats in the civil war. Please do not call Americans
racists. Real Americans were post-racial since the civil war. It has
and continues to be the democrats that separate people by group and
force people into submission and servitude with high taxes and big
