A lot of good of decent people, who were not fooled by the others, were fooled by Castro and some of the media of the time. On the other hand, from what I know of Flynn, he was anything but a decent person. As far as I am concerned, someone wearing a Che Guvara shirt might as well be wearing a Himmler shirt.
Why, that looks like Pierre Berton & Gordon Sinclair with a CBC watermark on the bottom. I bet this is Front Page Challenge. Ah, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, a place where communists can always get a friendly interview.
rnrnIt has been said that Flynn was the inspiration for the character James Bond. In a recent Mike Tyson documentary, Iron Mike says that Flynn was his idea of what a man should be. To me he was the epitome of decadence and lavish living. I believe he wanted that for Cuba. Prosperity. He wanted casinos and resorts and fancy cars. The problem was Batista's Protectionist policies that excluded many Cubans which led to the extremist movement. In my opinion.
nnMany people are taken in by the message of the Left (helping the poor, equality and such) but once they see Communism in practice, they are appalled. Flynn is no exception. Another good example would be the founder of the ACLU. In fact, I've never met a Communist that has experienced Communism.
Errol Flynn talks of his experiences with Fidel Castro during the Cuban Revolution. A hollywood icon seduced by the romanticism of the Left. The more things change, the more they stay the same. Note: this was at a time when Castro vehemently denied being a Communist. (another note: Obama denies being a Socialist)
Flynn died later this year of 'natural causes' at the age of 50. Soon after fleeing Cuba for his life.
